Dee Aspin Biography

I was born in the San Francisco Bay area where the winds of time once breezed through creating a landing place for my paternal grandparents, one half-British,Samoan and the other Austrian,Czech, to meet and marry. In Sacramento, my maternal grandparents settled after launching off from Sicily, and a fledgling arranged marriage.

A generation later I appeared with two brothers and a love for ethnic foods and cooking from my mother and a love for the great outdoors through my father. For many years I enjoyed planning extended vacations and trekking the majestic Sierra Nevadas.

I grew up playing sports and violin and running with my German Shepherd throughout high school and college. I received an RN at American River College, later followed by a Schoolteaching Credential and BA through California State University Sacramento. Presently I am acquiring Life Coach Certification through Western Seminary.

In High School I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. His love fueled my faith and propelled me into missionary experiences abroad, Singles ministry (growing with and equipping singles through Bible studies and prayer), and carrying my guitar into Juvenile Hall to praise and enter heaven’s halls with our incarcerated youth.

I have two special males that bring me great joy; one is an extra- large yellow Labrador Retriever named Sammy (Swammy when he’s in the water) and a Miniature Schnauzer with an attitude, Benjamin Sterling. They are my daily delights and ready laughs.

I am a published inspirational freelance writer and author of various articles and poems. My new book, The Lord of the Ringless, a devotional and Bible study guide for single women is available December 2008. I am presently completing a devotional book for Dog Lovers.
