So yesterday our pastor shared a tall fishing story...that was true. It really was a big catch.
A new man walked into our group recently and was snatched up instantly
"I know God brought us together" the lucky fisherwoman shared with our Pastor, bearing her ringed hand two weeks later. "I've been praying for this man all of my life."
"How long have you known him?" our pastor inquired thinking maybe she knew him before he attended our group.
"11 days," she answered, "but we've spent a lot of time together. We'd really like your blessings on our marriage."
He refused to give them his blessings.
Instead he said, "My guess is that in 90 days you'll be back for a different reason. The same passion and emotional intensity that put you here so quickly is the same stuff that will tear you down.
The Bible says to seek wisdom. Not be stupid and ask for blessings."
Wow. We were silent. Maybe it's okay if we haven't had a bite in awhile. Fishing can be serious business, especially if you catch one too quick! After the rush of the catch... comes the gutting. And that is for all who know, downright messy.
